Electrostatic precipitator, a dust collector that uses electrostatic force (Coulomb force) to separate particles from airflow. There are plate type and tube type, horizontal flow type and vertical flow type, dry type and wet type. When working, there are three main steps: charging the suspended particles, trapping the charged particles in the electric field, and removing the particles trapped on the dust collecting plate. It is characterized by small airflow resistance, can handle high-temperature gas, dust removal efficiency can reach 99-99.9%, is not affected by the moisture contained in dust particles, and is suitable for processing gases with low dust concentration and dust particle size of 0.05-50 μm. However, the investment and maintenance costs are high, and the electrical properties of the particles have an impact on the dust removal efficiency. It is mainly used to deal with occasions with a large amount of flue gas.

The wet electrostatic precipitator is divided into horizontal type and vertical type. It mainly handles wet gas with high water content or even saturation. It uses liquid to flush the surface of the dust collector for dust removal, which can effectively handle fine particles (PM2.5 dust, S03 acid mist, aerosol), heavy metals (Hg, As, Se, Pb, Cr), organic pollutants (polycyclic aromatic yellow, dioxin), sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, etc. The emission can reach 10mg/m3, reaching the national exhaust emission standard.
